No shortcuts taken either: The red and white stripes are not painted onto the board but are built of individual strips of wood–all 13 of them–stacking on each other to give definition and dimensional quality to the flag. And the field of blue is made of a completely different, solid section of wood (i.e. no seams that don’t belong there)
